Doggie Bag

Growing up we had a house filled with animals. Amongst many cats, birds, fish, and even a pet mouse, were a couple of giant dogs. Thane our first was shiny black Great Dane. Monk followed, a Great Pyrenees, huge as well, but all white with thick fur you could bury your hands in. I never thought I'd be a small dog girl, but I find myself craving a little one. Just something to scoop into my lap, or my bag, and then Reine of Small Business Graphics, also my fabulous web mistress sent me this. It is destined

Lake Merrit

Had an inspiring couple of hours around Lake Merritt in Oakland. First stop was Otto Frei. They have jewelry findings and tools. It's somehow gritty and elegant @ the same time. I was looking for earring and cuff findings. After handling wonderful metal tubing and bits I realized I needed to come back when Larry the master jeweler and shop manager was there.
Wandering around while waiting for Ricardo to get off work I stumbled upon Chop Bar. A couple of people at the bar when I walked in, 2 hours later when we left it was packed. Not only only are they commit ed to using local, sustainable ingredients, the vibe is without any attitude. The folks who work there are so genuine and nice. No debates here on how peaceful my chicken was in it's last hour. Can't say I thought of that, it was on Portlandia the great new show by Fred Armisen. OK, back to cutting up produce bags, ha ha.

Selina's Sweet D

Jsut met Selina who got a Sweet D bag. This chick is amazing. Besides being totally aware of what goes into artist made pieces, she "gets" style. Hmm, maybe having modeled helps. GreenStyled's next blogger?

brainstorming

Just coming back from spending a most productive day at Reine's. This woman is amazing. Not only does she do my site but our brainstorming sesions are what keeps me going. You know those great connections where you feel so inspired it's like a drug. I want to put her brain in my greenstyled bag. How she makes time for her Small business Graphics is beyond me.
Looking for an aggregator to manage my random thoughts http://greenstyled.com

Green in the East Village

so I just talked to my cousin in NYC who loves buying her produce at Commodities Natural Market - in the East Village - better than Whole Food's, it is locally owned. She even saw my GreenStyled bags hanging out front, which prompted me to call and talk to "B" the manager there who I love ... Guess what? They are ordering 12 more bags! Love them - awesome!!!!

Reinspiration

So there's this great store on Atlanta's Westside. Reinspiration is where everyone, real house wives or not, can connect with their inner artist. So now here's the really cool thing; they're starting a website and one of their featured products will be my GreenStyled bags. Just talked to Brooke and Julie and they said the Atlanta girls are loving the Sweet D bag gettin' in. style for summer and the beach.

style

Just saw Joslin at Eco-Citizen on Polk Street here in S.F. - What a GREAT (and green) store. And she loves everything she has here. I'm so glad my GreenStyled bags are here!
